Rod – Daiwa 22 Tanacom Z Electric Rod

A name synonymous with Daiwa electric rods and reels, TANACOM Z rods are a perfect match to the new TANACOM reels to offer a complete solution to dominate the deep.

TANACOM Z blanks are built using Daiwas GLATECH construction, a unique process which lays linear fibreglass sheet over a carbon blank to give the shock-absorbing nature of a fibreglass blank without the increase in weight and loss in sensitivity.

X45 technology is used on the carbon core blank where 45 degree carbon is laid in both directions to eliminate blank twisting which is important for dendoh rods in particular. Fuji heavy-duty boat guides with their SiN II ceramic insert are both incredibly strong and smooth, capable of handling extreme pressure from heavy braided line over long drawn out fights from monsters of the deep. An ALPS heavy duty swivelling roller tip is also installed to control the line flow from the rod tip and minimise heat build-up as the line enters the guides.

Sporting a totally new design incorporating the motor housed inside the spool has given Daiwa engineers the ability to increase the efficiency of the powerful motor, the same reliable unit thats been used on TANACOM 1000 in the past. Installed in this new frame, the motor generates even more power thanks to an improved drivetrain which has been totally reengineered with beefier gears and internal components to improve durability and minimise power loss.

More power is also accompanied by more speed, a feat often difficult to achieve since a faster retrieve inevitably means lower torque, the same principal as to why bikes are easier to ride up a hill in low gear as opposed to high. The faster retrieve speed of TANACOM 1200 is a great feature when deep dropping, as your ability to reposition or check baits is sped up dramatically. A side benefit of the new design is an Increased line capacity. With TANACOM 1200 now boasting a line capacity of PE8/1000m.
